Emergency Ride Home (ERH)

Emergency Ride Home (ERH)

September 13, 2013

The ERH program is designed to get you to your destination in the event of an unexpected emergency or unscheduled overtime. Contact Bruin Commuter Services (BCS) as soon as you realize that you may need this service.

Full-time UCLA vanpool participants and Antelope ValleySanta ClaritaLADOT Transit pass holders (purchased from UCLA) are eligible for ERH.

Planning ahead for appointments and emergency situations will allow you to share the ride with peace of mind. Here are some useful backup plans to put in place:

  • Phone a friend: Always keep contact information handy for friends or family members who can help out at the last minute.
  • Hop on a bus: Map your route on public transit. It’s easy! Just visit our Public Transit page and we’ll show you how.
  • Jump on a vanpool: An existing UCLA Vanpool might be available to get you back to your neighborhood in a pinch. Find out by calling Commuter Services & Information at (310) 794-RIDE.
  • Join a carpool: Log on to www.zimride.com/ucla to find other Bruins who may be heading the same direction as you.
  • Rent a Zipcar: If you know you’ll have a daytime appointment, you may be eligible to rent a car by the hour. Visit www.zipcar.com/ucla to learn more.
