If you are in an accident, pull the accident packet from glove box and follow these guidelines.

  1. Call the police or UCPD if you are on campus: (310) 825-1491
  2. Obtain agency name, address of investigating police officer and badge number
  3. Obtain facts about other vehicle(s) involved in accident:
    1. License number(s)
    2. Registered owner(s)
    3. Driver of other vehicles
    4. Name and address of insurance company covering other vehicle
    5. Damage to other vehicle(s)
    6. Year make and model of vehicle(s)
  4. Obtain facts about injured person(s)
  5. Obtain facts about other property damaged
  6. Obtain names and phone numbers of witnesses
  7. Describe and diagram accident

DO NOT discuss accident with anyone except with police, IRM, Fleet Services or your supervisor. DO NOT admit liability or offer to pay for damages.

Protect vehicle and other property from further damage. If possible, take pictures of any damage to vehicles at the scene of the accident. All accidents must be reported within 24 hours.
